Kjell Morisbak Lund (45) has been appointed vice president at Petoro responsible for work with licences on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) except Johan Sverdrup. He becomes a member of the company’s executive management team. Lund comes from Statoil, where he has been vice president for health, safety and the environment since 2012 in the marketing, processing and renewable energy (MPR) business area.
“We have employed a very competent executive in Lund for our licence activities,” says Petoro CEO Grethe K Moen. “He also has broad and relevant management experience in technology development and application, infrastructure, and projects, and from processing and marketing operations. I look forward to having his expertise and experience in our executive management team.”
Lund has an MSc in marine technology from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) – now the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) – in Trondheim. Before joining Statoil in 1996, he spent three years researching marine structures at the Sintef research foundation. He has worked in Statoil on pipeline technology, both as an engineer and as a manager. Other posts include human resources manager for Statoil’s technology team, and vice president for pipeline and transport technology, for the methanol plant at Tjeldbergodden, and for developing infrastructure, processing and refining facilities, before becoming HSE vice president for MPR’s global business. He has also held directorships related to Statoil’s methanol business.
