"Petoro is the owner and business manager of the state's interests on the Norwegian continental shelf. The department gasfields/new developments is responsible for gas fields, Gassled, all new projects beyond those that are directly towards a mature oil field and also exploration. Together with marketing the department is to ensure focus on the gas value chain and maximize the value of our gas resources.
The department shall maximize the owner’s profits in a way that maintains safety, the employees’ health and the environment. We work in the various licenses and by identifying and maximizing profits within and between different licenses on the shelf. The company’s goal – a driving force on the Norwegian continental shelf – gives guidelines for conduct in relation to authorities, the industry and the society which Petoro is a part of.
Petoro is a small, knowledge-based organization which on a commercial basis manages the largest portfolio on the Norwegian continental shelf. For license monitoring this means to focus our resources on the fields and areas with the greatest potential for value creation.”
